A Personal Photo Challenge - Animals - Jellyfish

This month the subject for A Personal Photo Challenge is 'Animals'. As I do not have pets any more to take portraits of, I decided to take the challenge to the extreme and have featured a Jellyfish! I found this one on the beach in Tywyn last weekend and do not think I have ever seen such a large one in the UK before!

  2. Jellyfish or jellies are the major non-polyp form of individuals of the phylum Cnidaria. They are typified as free-swimming marine animals consisting of a gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell and trailing tentacles.Wikipedia

  1. That is a difficult subject you chose, but executed it very well. It is a decent size, your foot is a good indication.

  11. I wonder if it's of the stinging variety - if so I bet it could give a really nasty one - you took a chance on that Welsh beach!
Certainly a surprise in today's challenge - good for you. Your pretty sandal and nail polish shade really enhance the pic LindyLou. Thanks for sharing something unexpected.

  16. Great photos Lindylou - I feel a little sad seeing them washed up high and dry - I wonder if they survived out of the water?
We get lots of jelly fish around the coast of New Zealand in summer - in fact some are quite dangerous to swimmers - they sting!

  17. Wow, you are right about taking the subjects of animals in a different direction. Amazing pictures, but I can't say that jellyfish were ever my favorite, and thanks to your pictures, they still aren't! :)
You did a great job with a tough subject.
