Mandevilla Splendens

Mandevilla Splendens, or Dipladenia Splendens is an evergreen vine from the Mandevilla Genus and is a native of Brazil. It climbs up to three metres by twining itself around things.

Earlier in the summer we had guests buy us this beautiful Mandevilla Splendens as a thankyou gift. We have never grown it before but will certainly be doing so again as it thrived in the heat and drought we have had in Italy for the last three months. My choice of subject today fits all three of the memes below.

Lucerne

Wikipedia tells me that those of you that do not live in the UK, Australia, South Africa or New Zealand, will know this plant as Alfalfa a perennial flowering plant in the pea family, cultivated as an important forage crop in the US, Canada, Argentina, France, Australia, the Middle East, South Africa and many other countries.

I took this photo of the Lucerne in our garden while I was chasing Butterflies trying to get some photos. The links will take you to my post on News From Italy where I have shared a selection of the results. I am also linking this post to flower art friday, but please note my entry is straight from the camera. Beautiful enough I think but do you?

Have a lovely weekend and I will be back next week with more photos from my world.

Iris - Our Garden in April

Good evening my friends. This post is an experiment with posting via my iPad. I have just downloaded an app called Blogsy as to my frustration my computer issues with my Vaio are still unresolved!

At least I have managed to post, even if it may not be perfect as I have not yet worked out finer details such as linking to memes etc.
