ABC Wednesday - J - Junk - Victoria Harbour - Hong Kong

One of my favourite views of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong is one that contains the magnificent  old junk the Aqua Luna.   Perfect for the letter J for ABC Wednesday

Signs - Street Advertising - Hong Kong

When ever I am in Hong Kong visiting my daughter I always find myself taking lots of advertising photographs as the advertising is always so eye catching and vibrant. It was the lorry with the advert for milk tea that is the main subject of my composition, but the other signs show just how crammed with advertising signs the streets are.

Early Evening Light

Returning to the city in the beautiful early evening light, after a day on a boat in The South China Seas. We swam and the water was very refreshing.

Oasis of calm

Hong Kong is a noisy and vibrant city which I have grown to love since my eldest daughter moved here six years ago this month. One of my favourite places to escape the noise and bustle of the city is the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens.

Whilst I am travelling I am using my ipad for blogging using an application called 'Blogsy' which I am learning to use by trial and error.
Friends bear with me as I try to share photos of my travels with you as often as I can. When time and internet connections allow I will also post a selection of photos on Travel Tales.
For those of you on Instagram you can also find me there as lindyloumac as I post photos from everyday life.

I thought it was about time I revived my 'Faces on Friday' theme, although today it is a little different! Happy Halloween.  I spotted this Halloween Man in a cafe in Hong Kong a few years ago.

Faces on Friday - Bubbles - Hong Kong

This little girl I photographed in Hong Kong was enjoying blowing her bubbles. She obviously considered it a very serious business, as she was concentrating very hard.

World at Work - Dried Seafood Market - Western District - Hong Kong

A few minutes tram ride  from Central Hong Kong, in the Western District the dried seafood traders are to be found. In my photos are all sorts of dried sea foods, some recognisable, others I have no idea what they might be!  If you are interested in viewing more posts about Hong Kong, lots can be found on my blog Travel Tales.

Faces On Friday - Fishermen - Hong Kong

On my daily walks exploring Hong Kong I often came across the fishermen that seem to spend all day down at the Harbour fishing, just like these two. Neither of them had caught anything for me to photograph this time, but they enjoyed seeing their photos.

Red Bottlebrush Flower - Callistemon - Hong Kong

When I was last in Hong Kong visiting my daughter we took a public ferry that just operates on Public Holidays and at the weekends from Sai Kung Pier to Yim Tin Tsai a deserted island, which is now a tourist attraction.  I have written about the trip in a post on my Travel Tales blog.   Yim Tin Tsai - Abandoned Island - Hong Kong

I found this beautiful flower when we were exploring the island. Having looked at photos on-line I am fairly sure it is a member of the bottle brush family. If you know otherwise please let me know.

Faces On Friday - On The Ferry - Hong Kong

When I was last in Hong Kong visiting my daughter we took a public ferry that just operates on Public Holidays and at the weekends from Sai Kung Pier to Yim Tin Tsai a deserted island, which is now a tourist attraction.  I plan to write about the island for my next Travel Tales post.

Our fellow passengers I think make interesting subjects for Faces On Friday. If I was a writer I think they would be a good starting point for a story!

Update March 18th 2014 I have now published my post entitled Yim Tin Tsai - Abandoned Island - Hong Kong

Over the last few years I have been fortunate enough to collect a large number of photos showing people carrying out their day to day life. I thought it might be interesting to share some of them here in a regular feature ' Faces on Friday'. Do let me know what you think of this idea, as I have met some fascinating people via my camera lens.
