The photograph of this beautiful deep red rose bud was taken with my Nikon Coolpix 500 in November 2012 in my garden, which I used to feature on my old blog News From Italy.

Publishing my entry to ABC Wednesday a day late this week, I was busy yesterday and forgot! As I actually had some Quince photos from Our Garden in Italy I decided to go ahead and join in late. The Quince were made into Jam and Jellies, the last few jars of which I am still enjoying.

Spindleberry

I went for a walk this afternoon planning to find something suitable for ABC Wednesday, which this week is for the Letter S. I got no further than halfway down our own garden when I came across the perfect choice, the Spindleberry looking glorious against the sunny blue skies we enjoyed here today.

Euonymus europaeus (spindle, European spindle, common spindle) is a species of flowering plant in the family Celastraceae, native to much of Europe, where it inhabits the edges of forest, hedges and gentle slopes, tending to thrive on nutrient-rich, chalky and salt-poor soils. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree. Other names include fusoria, fusanum, ananbeam, shemshad rasmi (Iran).

Apples

The wonderful Autumnal sunshine that welcomed us home from a trip has been showing the garden off and we have so many apples both on the ground and still on the tree. Everyone else around us also has plenty, wish I was able to actually share the apples rather than just this photo with you.

I will be catching up with everyone just as soon as I can and visiting the other participants in Green Day the meme I am joining today.

Kiwifruit

                         
We grow Kiwi in our garden and this photo was taken on September 21st 2012, they will be ready to harvest in early December. The full name is Kiwifruit ( Actinidia deliciosa) but shortened to Kiwi in many parts of the world. It is an edible berry that grows on a vine, if you are interested in more information I have included a link for you. Kiwifruit - Wikipedia  This week I have joined the meme for the letter K.
